The Senior Power Systems Analysis Engineer will lead electrical power system analysis projects, provide technical guidance, and support engineering teams in delivering high-quality solutions for industrial clients. This role requires strong technical expertise, project leadership, and the ability to communicate findings effectively with internal teams and customers.
- Review client requests for proposals, project scopes, and technical requirements to develop effective engineering approaches.
- Represent the organization during project bid discussions and site walkdowns.
- Prepare project estimates, resource requirements, and technical proposals.
- Lead power systems analysis projects from planning through final delivery.
- Perform field visits and data collection activities to support engineering studies.
- Conduct electrical studies including load flow analysis, short circuit analysis, arc flash studies, and protective device coordination using SKM and ETAP.
- Analyze results and prepare detailed technical reports outlining findings, recommendations, and improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to implement study recommendations into project solutions.
- Review and validate technical reports, calculations, and analyses completed by other engineers as part of quality control activities.
- Support business development efforts through technical discussions, client meetings, and capability presentations.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to support team development.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes, methodologies, and project execution standards.
The ideal candidate is a senior electrical engineering professional with strong experience in power systems analysis, industrial projects, and technical leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- 10+ years of professional engineering experience.
- Strong background in electrical power systems analysis, preferably within a consulting or engineering services environment.
- Experience supporting heavy industrial projects, including metals, midstream oil and gas, refineries, petrochemical, utilities, or power generation industries.
- Proficiency with SKM and ETAP software for electrical system studies.
- Experience leading engineering projects, technical teams, or multidisciplinary project groups.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred, with ability to obtain certification in additional states.
- Strong understanding of power distribution systems, protection coordination, electrical reliability, and safety standards.
- Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate analysis results into practical engineering solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with clients and internal teams.
- Strong mentoring and leadership capabilities with a commitment to developing engineering talent.
- Competitive annual salary range of $99,000 - $185,000 based on experience, qualifications, and location.
