Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Marketing Lead based in Canada.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious marketer to take broad ownership across product marketing, demand generation, brand, and content. You will help shape how a fast-growing technology business positions itself, reaches its audience, and converts prospects throughout the buyer journey. The role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution, giving you significant autonomy to build campaigns, refine messaging, and optimize the marketing funnel. You will work closely with Sales, Product, Customer Success, and leadership to turn market insights into measurable growth. As you demonstrate impact and develop the function, there is a clear path toward broader ownership of the marketing organization. This role is ideal for a creative, analytical, AI-native marketer who thrives in a remote startup environment and enjoys building rather than simply executing.
- Own product messaging and positioning, clearly communicating what the product does, who it serves, and how it differentiates from alternatives across the website, sales materials, and customer communications.
- Lead go-to-market activities for product releases, including launch plans, release notes, customer communications, and supporting content in collaboration with Product.
- Develop competitive positioning and sales enablement materials, including competitor comparisons, objection-handling resources, and pitch content.
- Partner with Sales and Customer Success to understand customer and market feedback and translate insights into stronger positioning, content, and product feedback.
- Plan and execute multi-channel demand generation campaigns across paid advertising, email, social media, webinars, and events.
- Own the marketing funnel, monitoring prospect progression from first interaction through conversion, identifying points of friction, and implementing improvements.
- Manage the marketing technology stack and lead flow, including platforms such as HubSpot and Salesforce, attribution, lead routing, list hygiene, MQL definitions, and sales handoffs.
- Design and run marketing experiments using structured hypotheses, measurable goals, and performance analysis, iterating regularly based on results.
- Collaborate with Sales and leadership on demand generation strategy and communicate marketing performance through clear, actionable reporting.
- Own brand voice and consistency across the website, social channels, campaigns, and content.
- Manage the social media presence and content calendar, including planning, writing, publishing, and ongoing optimization.
- Develop content aligned with the buyer journey, including blog posts, case studies, one-pagers, campaign materials, and other marketing assets.
- Lead SEO and AI-focused search visibility efforts, including traditional SEO and optimization for visibility within AI-generated answers and recommendations.
- Keep the website and landing pages current, aligned with positioning, and optimized for conversion.
- Continuously explore new marketing approaches, tools, and AI capabilities to improve efficiency, creativity, and performance.
- Experience marketing to technical or engineering audiences, particularly audiences that may be skeptical of traditional marketing approaches.
- Broad experience across product marketing, demand generation, and brand/content, with significant ownership in at least one of these areas.
- Strong analytical and data-driven thinking, with the ability to evaluate performance and adapt strategies based on evidence rather than instinct alone.
- Experience working in a startup or scale-up environment, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and resource-conscious setting.
- Strong AI fluency, including regular hands-on use of tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and AI-powered design or content-generation tools.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership, and turn broad direction into clear plans and execution.
- Strong project management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with Sales, Product, Customer Success, and executive stakeholders.
- Strong brand and design sensibility, with an instinct for creating marketing that looks polished and communicates compellingly.
- Ability to learn quickly and develop expertise in areas where prior experience may be limited.
- Hands-on experience with paid advertising platforms such as Google, LinkedIn, or Reddit is an asset.
- Experience with HubSpot, Salesforce, and other marketing technology platforms is an asset.
- Experience supporting in-person events or conferences is an asset.
- Podcast, video, multimedia, or other content production experience is an asset.
- Competitive compensation of CA$100,000–CA$150,000, based on skills, proficiency, and experience.
- Equity opportunities as part of the overall compensation package.
- Fully remote work environment across North America.
- Significant autonomy and ownership over the marketing function.
- Clear opportunity to grow into broader marketing leadership and work directly with executive leadership on strategy.
- Opportunity to work across product marketing, demand generation, brand, content, SEO, and marketing operations.
- Continuous exposure to emerging AI tools and modern marketing approaches.
- Collaborative environment focused on learning, experimentation, efficiency, empathy, and intellectual honesty.
- Opportunities to work closely with Sales, Product, Customer Success, and leadership.
- Inclusive and welcoming workplace where employees are encouraged to bring their authentic selves to work.
- Commitment to an accessible and barrier-free recruitment and employment experience, with accommodations available throughout the hiring process.
