Essential Functions
- Analyzes, develops, and evaluates systems as well as improving and maintaining current systems or creating brand new projects.
- Applies engineering techniques and analyses within the scope of the assignment.
- Recommends operational plans with direct impact on results.
- Requires communication with senior leadership on matters of strategic importance, i.e., Constructing and presenting status briefings on technical challenges.
- Works with third party resources, site leadership and other necessary departments to bring comprehensive solutions for operations, production, or maintenance issues related to local production or test failures.
- Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 7-8 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
- Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Technology or Chemical Engineering.
- Discipline/Major: Manufacturing, Business or Engineering preferred
- Knowledge, skills & abilities: Leadership skills. Ability to foster teamwork. Oral and written communication skills. Ability to identify and seek needed information/research skills. Technical expertise.
- Experience within chemical manufacturing and/or the defense industry highly desired.
- Experience in energetic materials field.
- Strong engineering skills and understanding of the design and composition of most existing products and engineering/business processes and principles.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- May need to stand for long periods of time.
- Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
- May be requested to work a different shift.
