Job Description

Position Title: Surgery RN

Shift: Days 7am-5:30pm

Status: Part -Time None Benefited

Compensation: $48.00

Job Summary

An Operating Room (OR) Nurse, also known as a perioperative nurse, manages patient care before, during and after surgical procedures. They collaborate with surgeons and anesthesiologists to prepare sterile environments, monitor vital signs, and transition patients safely to the recovery unit.

Job Duties

  • Intra-Operative (Circulating) Duties: Manage the overall flow of the operating room. Document procedures, monitor for safety hazards, and ensure sterile protocols are rigorously maintained.
  • Intra-Operative (Scrub) Duties: Work within the sterile field, directly assisting the surgeon by anticipating needs and handing them instruments and sutures

Related Qualifications

  • Education: An Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.
  • Experience: Typically, 1 to 2 years of experience in an acute care or perioperative setting is required
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred. CNOR (Certified Perioperative Nurse) is highly preferred for experienced nurses.
  • Licensure: Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
