Associate Executive Director

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Associate Executive Director based in the United States.

This leadership opportunity is designed for an experienced manager who wants to make a meaningful impact in a vibrant senior living community.
You will work closely with the Executive Director to oversee daily operations while maintaining exceptional service, resident satisfaction, and associate engagement.
The role provides broad exposure to hospitality, health services, dining, programming, sales, maintenance, and business operations.
You will operate in an entrepreneurial environment where creativity, sound judgment, and independent decision-making are encouraged.
As a hands-on leader, you will guide department heads, develop teams, and help drive strong operational and financial performance.
The position also offers structured regional training and experience designed to prepare you for future Executive Director responsibilities.

Accountabilities
  • Partner with the Executive Director to oversee day-to-day community operations, ensuring high standards of quality, service, resident satisfaction, associate engagement, and operational efficiency.
  • Support the management of multiple areas of the community, including hospitality, health services, dining, programming, sales, maintenance, and business office functions.
  • Help drive strong financial and operational results while maintaining a resident-focused approach to decision-making.
  • Provide direct leadership to approximately three to five department heads, while supporting the Executive Director with the direction and development of other department leaders and associates.
  • Interview, hire, onboard, train, and develop associates in accordance with organizational policies and applicable regulations.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work while monitoring performance, recognizing achievements, addressing performance concerns, and resolving employee complaints or workplace issues.
  • Build a positive and engaging environment that supports both resident well-being and associate satisfaction.
  • Apply independent judgment to address operational challenges and make effective decisions when circumstances require.
  • Analyze problems at both strategic and functional levels and implement practical solutions.
  • Prioritize and coordinate multiple operational responsibilities while maintaining consistent service standards.
  • Participate in regional rotations and training across communities to develop comprehensive operational and leadership expertise.
  • Build the experience and capabilities required to progress toward future Executive Director opportunities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • One to three years of management experience in a comparable environment, preferably involving senior living, hospitality, healthcare, or another service-focused operation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence others, and achieve results through department leaders and associates.
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to make sound independent decisions and exercise good judgment in complex or time-sensitive situations.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet operational demands.
  • Proven problem-analysis and resolution capabilities at both strategic and functional levels.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, internet-based tools, and industry-specific software used for marketing, payroll, and accounts payable/receivable.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to meet applicable state licensing requirements where required.
  • Strong commitment to creating a welcoming, engaging, and service-oriented environment for residents and employees.
