Job Summary: As a Direct Support Professional Supervisor, you will oversee a residential unit and team of caregivers providing support to individuals with disabilities. Your core skill in caregiving will be essential in ensuring the well-being and safety of residents. With premium skills in first aid, patient observation, and assisted living, you will lead by example in delivering high-quality care. Your relevant skills in long-term care and social work will further enhance your ability to address the unique needs of individuals with developmental disabilities. This role requires strong leadership, knowledge of HIPAA regulations, and a valid driver's license to effectively manage staff and uphold residents' rights Duties: Oversee the daily operation of the unit and all DSP'sHandle call outsOversee client calendars and appointmentsProvide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilitiesAlways ensure the safety and well-being of residentsAssist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administrationImplement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviorsSupport residents in participating in recreational activities and community outings- Maintain a clean and organized living environment for residentsRespect and uphold the rights of residents, ensuring their privacy and dignity- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality of resident informationExperience: Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferredKnowledge of resident rights and ability to advocate for individuals' needs
Ability to lift and transfer residents as neededFamiliarity with first aid and basic medical proceduresExperience in behavior management techniques is a plusValid driver's license and ability to drive residents to appointments or activities Qualifications and Education Requirements High School Diploma/ GEDMust have a valid driver's license with a satisfactory record.Should have position-related experience with the population served and/or experience providing direct care assistance with ADLs and possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities.Knowledge of: The DDA population and related developmental disabilities, behavioral management principles; generally accepted safety procedures; assist individuals with oral and written communications.Medication Technician Certification through MBONHold and maintain an unexpired First Aid/CPR card.Able to pass and maintain all DDA mandatory training.Has the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform their jobWillingly accept work assignments and produce quality work.Good communication skillsFollows the company’s mission and core values.Dependability, and punctuality in complianceFollow safety protocols.Personal Appearance; Follows the Code of Conduct
Follow HIPPA & Confidentiality policy.Employee practice within their scope of practice Preferred Skills Implementing ISPs; supporting service delivery programs.Supporting individuals in performing ADLs and personal care needs. Working effectively with people with DDA and related developmental disabilities including autism.Administering medications; transporting populations served, and effective oral/written communications to include basic computer use.Ability to: Implement ISPs; exercise sound judgment; problem solve and handle emergencies to include physically supporting fallen/incapacitated individuals: Teach and support individuals to plan meals, cook, dress, toilet, bathe, manage a fixed income; promote social/employment activities. Complete required documentationTransport ambulatory and non-ambulatory individualsSustain effective inter- and intra-agency working relationships.Maintain the dignity, respect, and confidentiality of individuals served.
