We are looking for a Program Associate to join our team.
The Job Brief:
The Program Associate supports the work of NAAG by primarily assisting the Center for Consumer Protection (CCP) and other areas of the Association as needed. The Center for Consumer Protection provides support for state attorney general staff who are committed to protecting the public against consumer fraud and anticompetitive business conduct. The Program Associate is an administrative position; the purpose of this position is not to develop policy or provide legal services, but rather to provide logistical, clerical, technical, accounting, and other support as more specifically addressed below.
The Program Associate reports directly to the Director of the CCP.
A Typical Day:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide administrative support to the CCP Director, Antitrust, and Consumer Protection Counsel, including calendar management, meeting scheduling , and appointment coordination .
- Monitor and prioritize communications, ensuring timely follow-up and completion of tasks.
- Support CCP counsel in all program content related matters during the planning and execution of conferences, meetings, webinars, and special events. This may include assisting Counsel with drafts of event agendas, materials, emails, and other announcements.
- Edit, format, proofread, and distribute correspondence, reports, and other documents.
- Run online events in conjunction with the MarComms team, review and provide content for CCP’s section(s) of the NAAG website and external-facing activities, and provide administrative support including preparing announcements, arranging planning meetings, communicating with speakers, uploading speaker materials and bios to apps, assisting registrants, and/or troubleshooting technical issues.
- Update the CCP’s consumer-facing website and external MS SharePoint site as needed.
- Assist with accounting, data usage, invoice creation, and other grant and project administration and maintenance.
- Create, edit, format, and maintain shared documents, spreadsheets, and collaborative work products.
- Assist staff with the use of SharePoint sites, document libraries, permissions, and collaboration tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve routine SharePoint access issues for external users and coordinate escalation of more complex technical issues when necessary.
- Maintain electronic files and records in accordance with organizational procedures.
- Travel may be required to events to provide on-site administrative and technical support
- Other tasks as assigned, based on the needs of the CCP and the Association.
Is This You?
- Undergraduate degree, with a preference given to those with a bachelor's degree in a business-related field, such as project management, accounting, finance, or business administration.
- Approximately 3-5 years of professional experience required. Experience supporting a leadership team working in a state attorney general office, especially in legal areas for consumer protection, antitrust, and charities, is strongly preferred.
- Strong professional verbal and written communication.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail, diligence, follow-up, and follow-through to meet critical project deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe products.

• Teams (shared documents and meeting support)
• Forms (creating, distributing, collecting responses, and summarizing results)
• Adobe (creating and editing forms, organizing pages and documents, combining files, creating bookmarks, and redacting) - Advanced use of online meetings platforms (Zoom, Teams, etc.).

Location:
NAAG is headquartered in Washington, D.C.
Terrific Total Compensation Package:
- Salary range starts at $55,000-$57,000 and is commensurate with experience and budget availability.
