Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sales Development Representative, Team Lead based in United States.
This role offers the opportunity to build and scale an outbound prospecting motion for a leading developer-focused technology platform. You will combine hands-on sales development with team leadership, personally generating enterprise pipeline while managing an outsourced SDR function from day one. The position requires a strong understanding of technical audiences, compelling messaging, proactive prospecting, and data-driven sales development. You will refine cold-call and social outreach strategies, establish repeatable playbooks, and use real market results to improve the broader motion. As the function matures, you will have the opportunity to build and lead an in-house SDR team. This is a high-ownership role suited to a builder and coach who thrives in ambiguity, moves quickly, and enjoys turning early-stage processes into scalable programs.
- Own and execute a full outbound prospecting motion through cold calling, email, LinkedIn, and other relevant channels.
- Personally generate qualified net-new enterprise pipeline against defined targets while serving as a hands-on player-coach.
- Take day-to-day ownership of an outsourced SDR team, assessing its existing processes, targets, activity levels, messaging, and pipeline contribution.
- Develop, test, and continuously refine cold-call scripts, LinkedIn messaging, outreach cadences, and prospecting approaches.
- Partner with hiring and sales leaders to understand target accounts, ideal customer profiles, value propositions, and pipeline objectives.
- Coach and quality-assure the outsourced SDR function while holding the team accountable to activity, meeting, and pipeline goals.
- Use activity, meeting, and pipeline conversion data to identify bottlenecks and continuously improve outbound performance.
- Turn successful prospecting approaches into documented, repeatable outbound playbooks that can be adopted by other representatives.
- Provide market feedback and insights from direct prospecting conversations to improve messaging and sales strategies.
- Establish and achieve net-new outbound pipeline goals across both personal efforts and the outsourced team.
- Prepare to recruit, onboard, coach, and lead an in-house SDR team as the outbound function scales.
- Develop sustainable onboarding processes, coaching cadences, performance expectations, and pipeline targets for future SDR hires.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in outbound sales development or prospecting, with a demonstrated track record of personally generating net-new enterprise pipeline.
- Strong experience using cold calling, email, LinkedIn, and social selling techniques to engage prospective customers.
- Player-coach mindset with the willingness to prospect directly while also coaching and managing other SDR resources.
- Demonstrated ability to build scripts, outreach cadences, prospecting processes, or sales playbooks from the ground up.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create, test, and refine messaging that resonates with skeptical or senior prospects.
- Ability to understand and sell to technical and engineering audiences and quickly learn complex technology products.
- Strong initiative, resilience, and comfort operating in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment.
- Data-driven approach to sales development, with the ability to measure and optimize activity-to-meeting and meeting-to-pipeline conversion.
- Experience managing, coaching, or quality-assuring SDRs or an outsourced/agency SDR team is a plus.
- Experience in developer tools, enterprise software, or another technical technology sector is desirable.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining consistent prospecting and coaching activities.
- Willingness to work from Austin, Chicago, Denver, or Seattle.
Benefits:
- $98,700 USD base salary plus $42,300 USD variable compensation, for $141,000 USD target on-target earnings.
- Equity participation in addition to cash compensation.
- Competitive compensation structure informed by market and location data.
- Remote-first working environment with required working locations in Austin, Chicago, Denver, or Seattle.
- Opportunity to build and validate an outbound sales development function from the ground up.
- Hands-on exposure to enterprise technology sales and technical engineering audiences.
- Opportunity to progress from player-coach responsibilities into leading an in-house SDR team.
- Broad ownership over prospecting strategy, messaging, coaching, pipeline generation, and process development.
- Globally distributed working environment with a culture focused on high agency, direct communication, and customer focus.
- Comprehensive benefits and additional employee perks.
