Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (LPTA)

Inpatient, Full-time, Weekend Plan

• Work location: Texas Health Ft. Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue, Ft. Worth, TX 76104

• Physical Therapy department
  • Work hours: Weekend Plan: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Every Saturday and Sunday (1 weekend off every 13-weeks) 7:00AM-3:30PM, as well as 3 days per week, 7:30AM to 4:00PM, 8-hour shifts, with occasional holiday coverage.

What You Will Do

• Follow plan for care, or appropriate therapeutic intervention to achieve stated goals.

• Performs treatment procedures/techniques that are within the scope of the professional license.

• Documents all aspects of assessment and plan of care in accordance with departmental, TJC, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines

• Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment

• Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment.

• Demonstrates competence in the performance of age-appropriate patient treatment and individualizes care based on age specific needs.

• Participate in discharge planning for patient.

• Attends hospital, department, and community meetings / educational in-services.

• Strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration
