We are seeking a highly experienced technical leader to support enterprise‑scale modernization initiatives across the U.S. Air Force and Department of Defense (DoD). This role requires deep expertise in cloud architecture, cybersecurity, legacy system modernization, enterprise resource planning (ERP) sustainment, and secure software engineering. The ideal candidate excels at translating complex technical concepts for senior executives, designing mission‑critical architectures, and guiding modernization efforts across diverse cloud environments while upholding rigorous DoD security and accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities
Executive Advisory & Technical Translation
Prepare formal reports, technical papers, briefings, memorandums, and minutes for leadership review. Present findings from government-directed studies, models, and analyses to various committees and panels. Translate highly complex technical architectures, DevSecOps trends, and cybersecurity risks into clear, actionable information for non‑technical Air Force stakeholders.
Enclave Modernization & ERP Sustainment
Architect, plan, and execute migration of legacy Air Force systems into Cloud One, DISA-hosted enclaves, and FedRAMP-accredited cloud environments. Design, integrate, and sustain cloud-native IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions. Apply first-hand knowledge of ERP Common Services to standardize hosting platforms and ensure enterprise interoperability.
Custom Solutions & Accreditation Support
Design secure, custom software products end-to-end. Deliver solutions requiring FedRAMP or DoD accreditation across IL‑2 through IL‑6. Evaluate application requirements, understand downstream impacts, and produce unique technical solutions that align with DoD policies and accreditation frameworks.
Legacy-to-Cloud Refactoring & Engineering
Analyze applications and environments in alignment with mandated DoD hosting strategies. Lead complex legacy transitions into modern cloud-native platforms, selecting appropriate migration methodologies—including re‑platforming, re‑hosting, or deep architectural refactoring.
Architecture & Systems Engineering
Develop architectures for integrating software and applications into complex cloud ecosystems. Review System Integrator architectures, schedules, and deliverables to ensure alignment with Air Force engineering standards and policy requirements.
Cybersecurity, AI Governance & Infrastructure Security
Evaluate and integrate COTS, FOSS, and cloud technologies to support DoD Cloud First objectives. Support ongoing Risk Management Framework activities and apply NIST controls to identify and prioritize risks. Maintain vigilance against supply chain threats, enforce DevSecOps policy‑as‑code standards, and ensure all AI-related integrations follow DoD security mandates and human‑in‑the‑loop oversight.
SAFe Agile Delivery
Participate in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) programs, supporting iterative prototype development and ensuring continuous user engagement throughout Agile sprints.

Minimum Requirements
Target Domain Expertise
10+ years of experience delivering complex enterprise IT solutions for the Air Force and DoD, including deep experience in DoD cybersecurity, cloud migrations, infrastructure design, Cloud One operations, and AWS IL‑4 environments.
DoD 8140 Qualification (formerly 8570)
Active certification meeting IASAE Level III or IAM Level III requirements (e.g., CISSP, CISSP‑ISSAP, CISSP‑ISSEP, CISM, GSLC).
Education & Experience Baseline
Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of relevant experience, Master’s degree with 9 years, or Ph.D. with 7 years.
Security Clearance
Must obtain and maintain a favorable Secret clearance with Tier 1 Investigation and possess the necessary IT Level I background check and 8140 qualification.
Accreditation Navigation Expertise
Demonstrated knowledge of FedRAMP authorization and DoD SRG requirements, with experience designing architectures and solutions that consistently pass government audits across all impact levels.
System Administration
Hands-on engineering and administration experience with legacy Linux, Solaris, and Windows enterprise environments.
Oracle ERP Experience
Multiple years supporting, architecting, and sustaining Oracle E‑Business Suite (EBS) environments.
DevSecOps & Emerging Technology Competency
Strong understanding of modern DevSecOps tooling, container hardening approaches, CI/CD pipelines, and safe implementation of AI technologies in government environments.

Nice to Have
Familiarity with CMMC Level 2 control implementation
Ability to provide Tier 2/3 reach-back support, including deep-dive root cause analysis for production issues
