Department: Housekeeping

Reports to: Director of Facilities

Statement of Purpose:

The Housekeeper is responsible for the Club's daily housekeeping operations, ensuring that all member areas, guest spaces, offices, and common areas are maintained in a clean, organized, and welcoming condition at all times.

Position Summary

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of the Key Biscayne Yacht Club's facilities, ensuring an exceptional experience for members, guests, and employees. This position plays a vital role in presenting a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the Club, including the clubhouse, three restaurants, banquet and event spaces, restrooms, offices, locker rooms, and other common areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain all public areas of the clubhouse, including lobbies, hallways, stairways, meeting rooms, lounges, and administrative offices.
  • Clean and sanitize all restrooms, ensuring they remain fully stocked with paper products, soap, and other supplies throughout the day.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the Club's three restaurants, including dining rooms, host stands, beverage stations, and service areas before, during, and after service.
  • Clean banquet and private event spaces before, during, and after Club events, weddings, and member functions.
  • Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and polish floors, furniture, windows, mirrors, and fixtures.
  • Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste according to Club procedures.
  • Report maintenance issues, damaged equipment, or safety hazards to the Housekeeping Supervisor immediately.
  • Replenish housekeeping supplies and notify the supervisor when inventory is low.
  • Assist with setting up and breaking down meeting rooms and special event spaces as needed.
  • Maintain locker rooms, fitness areas, and member amenities to the Club's standards.
  • Follow proper cleaning procedures using approved chemicals and equipment.
  • Operate housekeeping equipment safely, including vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, and other cleaning tools.
  • Ensure all assigned areas meet the Club's cleanliness and presentation standards.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to member and guest requests.
  • Support other departments when necessary to ensure smooth Club operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous housekeeping experience in a private club, hotel, resort, or hospitality environment preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English; bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and professional.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and reach.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Push and pull housekeeping carts and equipment.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions when required.

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced private yacht club environment.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and housekeeping equipment.
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday work is required based on Club operations and special events.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Commitment to providing outstanding service to members and guests.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Ability to follow all Club safety policies and procedures.

  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness throughout the Club.
  • Create a welcoming and comfortable environment for members and guests.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and cooperation with all departments.

  • Represent the Yacht Club in a courteous, professional, and service-oriented manner.
