We are seeking a Data Research Analyst - Loans and Mortgages to join our India-based Data Research team and assist our editorial team in creating top-quality content. In this role, you will provide competitive analysis on the US loans and mortgages market and ensure the quality and accuracy of data collection and analysis for US lending products. Your research and analysis will be a key component of making trustworthy, relevant assessments of loan and mortgage products and services, helping thousands of consumers make informed decisions related to borrowing, home ownership, refinancing, and financial planning.

Responsibilities

  • Review editorial data requests for feasibility, usability, and scalability.
  • Coordinate with research teams to collect loans, mortgages, lender, and product data.
  • Perform analysis on collected data to identify top-quality US lending products, including personal loans, mortgage loans, refinance mortgages, home equity loans, HELOCs, auto loans, student loans, and related borrowing products, where applicable.
  • Assess lending product attributes such as APRs, interest rates, fees, loan terms, repayment options, loan amounts, credit score requirements, lender eligibility criteria, down payment requirements, borrower disclosures, and other relevant product criteria.
  • Develop and implement processes for quality control, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Collaborate with peers to introduce and develop new techniques and processes for efficient data collection.
  • Collaborate with the editorial team to ensure deadlines and goals are met.
  • Review editorial content resulting from work product for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain clear documentation of research methodologies, assumptions, data sources, lender criteria, eligibility requirements, and scoring logic.
  • Support the continuous improvement of loans and mortgages data processes, including automation, data validation, and scalable reporting.

About You

  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and critical thinking abilities.
  • Comfortable working in MS Office, with an emphasis on Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to interpret lending product information, rates, fees, eligibility criteria, repayment terms, disclosures, and lender conditions.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and prioritize projects accordingly.
  • Previous experience in a quality, research, financial services, lending, mortgage, data, or content role is preferred.
  • Comfortable managing your own projects and deliverables.
  • Interested in understanding consumer lending products and how data can support accurate, useful editorial recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, Associate Degree, Certificate, or equivalent training and experience in a relevant field such as Business Studies, Economics, Finance, Data Analysis, or a related discipline.
  • 1.5 years of minimum experience required
  • Proficiency in using Excel for data analysis and manipulation.
  • Experience using BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation is desirable.
  • Experience with financial services data, loans, mortgages, consumer finance content, or comparison methodologies is desirable.:
