Job Description
Duties of this position are highly focused to ensure that the products manufactured meet and or exceed the expectations of our customers, industry, regulatory agencies and legal compliance where applicable. The coordinator works cross-departmentally to develop programs, procedures and standard work practices focused on sustaining quality and product reliability. Audit current procedures and establish continuous improvements. Maintain oversight of the test and inspection documentation. Recognize inefficiencies and gaps in quality while driving change to improve the overall QA system and product output. Cross departmental relationships include but are not limited to inventory control, material handling, engineering product design, agency compliance, production assembly, fabrication and purchasing. This individual will be tailoring the concepts and procedures of quality management to fit the business needs of Carter-Hoffmann.
Responsibilities
- Ability to work with production team to address quality issues
- Monitor production line to identify areas of improvement
- Evaluating the company's product specifications and examining them with customer requirements
- Setting quality assurance compliance, establishing procedures and programs that are sensitive to the specific needs and align with the business goals and mission
- Reviewing, developing and sustaining the promotion of quality assurance and performance improvement programs through out the business
- Ensuring product compliance with both domestic and international compliance regulations
- Understanding, evaluating and executing the test and inspection procedures. Directing workings in this area to ensure standards are met through specific procedures
- Lead First Pass Yield (FPY) team in executing objectives and reducing turnbacks.
- Reporting monthly results for FPY to employee communications board
- Determining relative quality associated training requirements and delivering training in some cases
- Writing QA reports as required. Analyzing data and performance metrics against defined parameters
- Combining all the above and driving them to a plan, developing and implementing a defined quality system for Carter-Hoffmann
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings
- Organizing, planning and problem solving
- Good interpersonal, written and communication skills
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Statistical and numeric calculation proficiency
- Proficient with MS office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Working Conditions: Work is performed largely in manufacturing environments. Ability to lift 40-50 lbs. and a variety of postures (bending, stooping, etc.) when handling product.
