REQUIREMENT
This part time position primarily provides courier and logistical support for ARCTOS. The primary responsibility of this role is the pickup and delivery of materials, typically within a 35 mile radius of Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. Deliveries and pickups generally occur two days per week and may involve multiple trips depending on the quantity and type of materials requested. Materials may include scientific demonstration equipment and supplies delivered to local schools and partner locations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
This role also requires hands on support for projects, including assisting with setup, moving equipment and materials, and performing other physical or logistical tasks as needed. Candidates should be comfortable with light to moderate physical work and supporting team activities in the field.
The position requires use of the employee’s personal vehicle for courier activities. Mileage will be reimbursed on a monthly basis at the established rate of $0.56 per mile. Candidates must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a good driving record. Administrative duties may be assigned as needed and could include support of home office operations, proofreading, document creation and editing, spreadsheet support, and general office assistance. A defined schedule will be established, with an expected workload of approximately 5 to 15 hours per week.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Organized individual who can follow instructions for delivering materials.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Courteous, professional and represents ARCTOS in a professional manner.
- Ability to adjust to change if needed.
EDUCATIONAL, CLEARANCE AND CERTIFICATION
- US citizen or permanent resident
- High School Diploma
- Valid Driver's License
- Good Driving Record
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
PHYSICAL/WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Able to lift containers containing weighing between 10-30 pounds. Multiple containers are to be loaded from office to car and into school buildings. Where possible, pull carts will be used.
- Must successfully pass pre-employment drug screening; subsequent random screening per anti-drug and alcohol misuse prevention program requirements.
TRAVEL
- Travel is not anticipated, but if performed will be under the guidelines of Federal Travel Regulations and/or Joint Travel Regulations.
