Job Description
Audio Advice Prewire Technicians play a critical role in the early stages of our installation projects by preparing homes and buildings for today’s premium technology systems. Working alongside other construction trades during the framing phase, Prewire Technicians install the infrastructure that supports audio, video, networking, security, and smart home systems.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in craftsmanship, and wants to build technical skills in a growing industry. Successful team members are dependable, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable working in active construction environments.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrewire & Infrastructure InstallationInstall low-voltage wiring for audio, video, networking, security, surveillance, and smart home systems in residential and light commercial construction projects
Pull, route, secure, and label wiring according to company standards and project documentation
Install back boxes, conduit, speaker rings, wire pathways, and other rough-in components
Read and follow floor plans, wiring diagrams, and installation instructions
Ensure wiring is neat, organized, properly protected, and ready for final installation phases
Work effectively alongside builders, electricians, HVAC teams, and other construction trades during active job sites
Maintain awareness of construction schedules and coordinate work to support project timelines
Keep work areas clean, organized, and professional at all times
Communicate job progress, challenges, or missing information to Lead Technicians or Project Managers
Follow company installation standards, safety protocols, and job site requirements
Use ladders, hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment safely and responsibly
Protect customer property and maintain a professional appearance on job sites
Verify wiring runs and labeling accuracy before project completion
Develop technical knowledge related to audio, video, networking, and smart home systems
Learn industry best practices for wiring methods, construction coordination, and installation quality
Participate in company and manufacturer training opportunities
Grow toward advanced technical and leadership opportunities within the installation team
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn technical skills
Comfortable working in construction environments and active job sites
Ability to use basic hand tools and ladders safely
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in attics, crawlspaces, and on ladders
Experience in construction, low-voltage wiring, electrical work, or related trades
Familiarity with basic hand and power tools
Experience reading floor plans or construction drawings
Interest in technology, home automation, or AV systems
Dependable and punctual

Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
Willingness to learn and grow technically
Good communication and professionalism on job sites
