Job Description

Summary of Position:

The R&D Lab Technician is responsible for supporting the Research & Development team in the continued growth of

products and therefore the profitability of MBC Companies. This role will set up and maintain all data for raw materials and

formulas across all software platforms, maintains good laboratory practices, raw material and product testing as needed.

Essential Functions:

1. Establish expertise in the various software systems MBC Companies leverages for R&D data management

2. Set up & maintain product data for all new raw materials

3. Supports good laboratory practices with organization and inventory management of tools, samples and raw materials

4. Maintains laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance

5. Completes routine R&D testing and provides clear results to R&D scientists

6. Manages product benchmarking and documentation program

7. Supports sales sample creation

8. Partners with Food Safety Quality and Operations to support pertinent documentation needs for raw materials,

formulas and finished goods

9. Partners with Sales to support customer requests for in-development product documentation in a timely manner

10. Support internal product sensory evaluations with set up and data collection.

11. Support R&D team with sample shipment.

12. Support the R&D team with any customer visits, educational or training opportunities as needed.

Education and Experience: Please list the education and experience required for this position, such as:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

2. Associates degree preferred.

3. Must have excellent computer skills.

4. Computer skills: Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, creating and editing PDFs. Quick to learn new

communication platforms and ability to learn new software.

5. Experience in customer service, school nutrition, food manufacturing preferred.

Competencies:

1. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

2. High level of organization.

3. Strong attention to detail.

4. Ability to handle and record proprietary detailed information.

5. Willingness to learn and be flexible.
