Urban Workshop is America’s most successful membership-based Workshop / MakerSpace providing commercial tools and expert training for ambitious people wanting to learn new skills and contribute to our Maker community. The Equipment Technician will possess the training, knowledge and initiative to become a well-versed team member, able to accurately diagnose and repair various types of equipment and systems. Our Facility Maintenance Mechanics have the opportunity to take Urban Workshop training classes to learn about the equipment and services we provide to customers and develop their personal skill set.

Maintenance Requirements
- Performing preventative maintenance and repair on a range of equipment from CNC machines to Lasers
- Troubleshoot, identify, and repair equipment failures quickly and accurately
- Setup, adjust, and operate all of our manufacturing equipment
- Performing general facilities maintenance, organization, and cleaning
- Maintain spare parts and check out tools inventory
- Completion of Work Orders, shift checklists, end of Shift reports, and shift change procedures
- Works with minimum supervision and improves procedures and documentation
Competencies
- Relevant industry, job, or hobbyist experience
- Fantastic customer service skills and a desire to work closely with people
- Intermediate computer skills: proficiency with the Internet, email, Google Apps, Word, and Excel
- Ability to quickly learn the use of new tools, machines, and software
- Ability to effectively communicate shop and member issues
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized shop with fanatical attention to detail

Requirements:Physical Requirements
- Prolonged stretches of working on your feet
- Ability to carry 100 lbs safely
- By nature the technician’s work is strenuous and can be taxing
Education and Experience
- Associates or bachelor’s degree a plus, or equivalent work experience
- At least 3 years work experience in commercial equipment diagnosis and repair
