Summary:
The Shipping & Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating shipping and finished-goods logistics to ensure the efficient storage, staging, loading, transportation, and delivery of completed pontoon units. The Shipping & Logistics Coordinator manages relationships with third-party transportation providers, collaborates cross-functionally with Production and Sales to align priorities and delivery commitments, communicates with key dealer contacts, and develops processes that support efficient and reliable shipping operations. This position also provides day-to-day coordination and direction to employees supporting shipping activities while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Manage relationships with third-party transportation providers, including asset availability, scheduling, pricing, service expectations, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate transportation and delivery requirements for finished pontoon units based on production schedules, sales priorities, and customer commitments.
- Collaborate with Production to align shipping priorities with unit completion schedules and anticipated delivery requirements.
- Coordinate with Sales to support timely delivery of finished pontoon units and ensure customer and dealer expectations are effectively communicated.
- Communicate loading, scheduling, and delivery updates to key points of contact throughout the dealer network as needed.
- Oversee the physical storage, staging, movement, and loading of finished goods to promote efficient workflow and utilization of available space.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve systems and processes related to finished-goods storage, loading, shipping, and transportation logistics.
- Identify and address operational inefficiencies, capacity constraints, transportation concerns, and other issues that may impact delivery performance.
- Coordinate and provide day-to-day direction to shipping employees by establishing priorities, communicating expectations, supporting departmental goals, and identifying opportunities for employee growth and development.
- Allocate departmental resources based on production output, transportation availability, loading requirements, and delivery commitments.
- Maintain effective cross-functional communication with Production, Sales, Operations, and other departments to proactively identify and resolve issues affecting shipment or delivery.
- Monitor transportation provider performance and work directly with vendors to resolve scheduling, availability, pricing, service, or delivery concerns.
- Ensure shipping documentation, records, and applicable tracking information are completed and maintained accurately.
- Promote safe work practices throughout finished-goods storage, staging, loading, and shipping operations.
- Operate forklifts and other applicable heavy equipment as needed to support loading and shipping activities.
- Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient shipping and finished-goods area.

- Ability to safely operate forklifts and other applicable material-handling or heavy equipment.
Required education and experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, transportation, distribution, manufacturing operations, or a related field.
- Previous experience coordinating transportation providers, freight carriers, vendors, or other third-party logistics resources.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required forklift and/or equipment certifications.
Preferred education and experience:
- Previous experience coordinating shipping, logistics, transportation, distribution, or finished-goods operations within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with third-party transportation providers or logistics vendors.
- Marine, recreational vehicle, automotive, or similar manufacturing experience.
- Experience developing or improving shipping, logistics, inventory, or transportation-related processes.
- Experience working directly with dealer networks or customer-facing delivery operations.
- Previous experience providing day-to-day operational direction or coordinating the work of others.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- No formal supervisory responsibilities at this time.
- Provides day-to-day coordination and operational direction to support shipping and finished-goods activities. Responsibilities may include coordinating work assignments and priorities, and escalating concerns as needed.
Physical Demands:
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Reaching, bending, carrying or lifting materials and supplies up to 50lbs.
Work environment:
- Standard manufacturing environment.
- Work is performed inside or outside year-round. There is exposure to dirt, dust, moderate to high noise, moving equipment, vibrations, and seasonal weather conditions year-round.
- All necessary PPE and training will be provided.
Travel Requirements:
- There is no travel required for this role.
