Job Summary:

Manages monitors and directs a rail branch to ensure efficiencies that promote safety, quality and customer satisfaction. Respects the customer’s property, organizes workflow to meet and exceed customer expectations, and arranges work to accomplish departmental objectives by submitting repair orders timely and accurately. Plans, staffs, and evaluates departmental priorities to ensure that supervisors and technicians work together cohesively and are accountable for assigned tasks. Maintains schedule to aid in timely completion of preventative maintenance and repair work. Provides instruction and training for site supervisors. Promotes a safe work environment and complies with regulatory requirements and reporting processes.

Pay: $27.00 - $31.00/hourly depending on experience.

Schedule: Saturday – Wednesday, 5:00am – 1:30pm

Location Description:
Position located at a rail yard in Fresno, CA. Will be required to work outside in hot and cold temperatures.

Requirements:

· Delivers exceptional service by focusing on quality and customer service standards; analyzing and resolving customer service issues; identifying trends; recommending systems and improvements.

· Monitors parts and labor repair orders and warranty processes and continues to improve on those processes.

· Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees, maintaining a safe, secure, and engaged work environment, developing personal growth opportunities during timely reviews.

· Develops staff by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and instructing employees; developing, coordinating, and administering policies, procedures, and productivity standards.

· Establishes strategic goals by gathering pertinent business, financial, service, and operational information; identifying and evaluating trends and options; choosing a course of action, defining objectives; evaluating outcomes.

· Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices.

· Fosters an environment of safety and continuous improvement.

· Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned by management.

Job Requirements:

· Associate degree; or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or five to ten years or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and work experience in a busy shop environment.

· Ability to communicate effectively with customers, technicians, and managers either written or verbally.

· Experience in Performance Management, Project Management, Coaching Management, and Results Driven.

· Fosters teamwork, handles pressure, provides specific feedback, listens to constructive input and manages conflict.

· Proven organizational and time management skills, detail orientated knowledge of equipment and Professional demeanor

· Utilizes critical thinking skills, problem solving abilities, and exercises good judgment when completing tasks in an efficient, accurate, and productive manner.

· Coordinates resources to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

· Demonstrates active listening skills, oral/ written comprehension, clear communication and commitment to perform quality services.

· Intermediate computer and data entry skills for Windows based software programs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, climb stairs/ladders.
  • Ability to lift / carry / push / pull up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work in hot and cold temperature extremes.
  • Ability to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment)
