Job Description
Designer Alliance is a designer-led platform built around authentic, original design in the era of AI, with lighting as its primary commercial medium. It is not a licensing program, not a mass-market label, and not a showroom concept. It is a curated alliance of influential designers, that brings together cultural authority, original product, storytelling, PR, and digital commerce into a single durable institution. Bellacor and Capitol Lighting are the distribution engines.
The Brand Director owns the integrity and growth of the Designer Alliance brand end to end. This person protects how the brand looks, sounds, and behaves across every touchpoint, drives the marketing and PR that builds it, and connects all of it to commercial results through Bellacor. The role works across PR, marketing, product, operations, legal, analytics, web, and designer relationships, and represents the brand publicly with our national partners. It is a senior, cross-functional role closer to a brand general manager than a traditional brand manager, and the right person is comfortable owning outcomes with limited direction in a fast-moving, founder-led environment.
General responsibilities include but are not limited:
- Own the Designer Alliance brand across every touchpoint, ensuring consistency in voice, positioning, visual identity, and customer experience.
- Lead PR strategy and execution with our agency partners, driving media coverage, editorial relationships, product launches, and brand storytelling.
- Develop and execute marketing campaigns that build awareness, engage designers, and drive measurable business results.
- Partner closely with product, manufacturing, and operations teams to ensure launches, storytelling, and inventory readiness stay aligned.
- Build trusted relationships with designers, industry partners, and key stakeholders while serving as a day-to-day ambassador for the brand.
- Oversee website content, digital experiences, events, and brand activations that reinforce Designer Alliance's premium positioning.
- Analyze campaign performance, website traffic, and conversion data to guide strategy and improve results.
- Represent Designer Alliance at industry events, media opportunities, and partner engagements.
- Coordinate across internal and external teams to manage priorities, timelines, risks, and execution.
- Additional duties as required.
- 7+ years of experience in brand management, marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Experience in design, luxury, home furnishings, lifestyle, or another premium consumer category.
- Strong PR experience, including agency management and media relations.
- Comfortable working across creative, operational, legal, and analytical environments.
- Experience managing high-profile relationships, partnerships, or talent.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect brand-building efforts to measurable outcomes.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and project management skills.
- A passion for design, storytelling, and building brands that stand for something.
