Senior Vice President Technology

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Vice President Technology based in Canada.

This executive leadership opportunity is designed for a visionary technology leader who thrives in high-growth, innovation-driven environments. You will play a critical role in shaping the technical strategy, scaling engineering operations, and driving the successful delivery of a next-generation AI-powered solution. Working closely with executive leadership, product teams, and go-to-market stakeholders, you will bridge strategic vision with technical execution. The role combines hands-on technical involvement with organizational leadership, offering the opportunity to influence product direction, architecture, infrastructure, and team development. You will help build a scalable, secure, and high-performing technology organization while supporting ambitious growth objectives. This position is ideal for a leader who enjoys solving complex challenges and creating lasting business impact through technology.

Accountabilities:
  • Define and execute the overall technology strategy, ensuring alignment with product objectives, market opportunities, and business goals
  • Lead engineering and technical operations, overseeing software development, infrastructure, architecture, and delivery excellence
  • Scale, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering teams while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate closely with executive leadership, product teams, customer-facing teams, and commercial stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Drive architectural decisions that support reliability, scalability, security, and long-term growth
  • Evaluate and optimize existing technology initiatives, infrastructure, and operational processes to improve efficiency and performance
  • Ensure technology solutions are designed with privacy, compliance, security, and resilience as core principles
  • Contribute directly to technical execution when necessary, particularly in evolving and rapidly scaling environments

Requirements:

  • Extensive leadership experience managing engineering and technology organizations within high-growth or startup environments
  • Proven track record of building, scaling, and retaining high-performing technical teams
  • Strong expertise across modern technology stacks, cloud or hybrid architectures, and digital transformation initiatives
  • Hands-on experience developing and deploying AI-driven technologies, including areas such as natural language processing, large language models, computer vision, or related disciplines
  • Familiarity with physical technology environments, including networking, video systems, surveillance technologies, or connected infrastructure
  • Demonstrated success scaling platforms, infrastructure, and technical organizations to support rapid growth
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to executive and non-technical audiences
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action and the ability to perform effectively in fast-paced, evolving environments
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • MBA or equivalent business leadership experience considered an asset
  • Experience in product prototyping, startup scaling, new product development, or physical security industries is highly desirable
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and willing to complete any required background screening or security clearance processes
