This role offers an exciting opportunity to support complex, high-value real estate development projects across international markets. You will be responsible for providing end-to-end legal guidance throughout the full lifecycle of real estate transactions, including acquisition, financing, construction, leasing, and disposition. The position involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating sophisticated legal agreements while ensuring regulatory compliance and risk mitigation. You will work closely with internal development, finance, and construction teams, as well as external stakeholders such as investors, lenders, and public authorities. This is a high-impact role suited for a commercially minded legal professional who thrives in fast-paced, cross-border environments. You will play a key role in enabling the successful delivery of luxury and large-scale real estate projects.
- Provide legal advice across all phases of real estate development projects, including land acquisition, due diligence, permitting, construction, financing, leasing, and asset disposal.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal agreements such as purchase contracts, development agreements, leases, construction contracts, and loan documentation.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and commercial risks associated with real estate development and transactional activities.
- Conduct legal research and ensure compliance with applicable real estate laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including development, finance, and construction teams to support project execution.
- Liaise with external stakeholders such as government authorities, investors, lenders, consultants, and contractors.
- Support negotiation of complex contractual arrangements to protect company interests and ensure regulatory alignment.
- Stay up to date with legal developments and best practices in real estate and construction law.
- Law degree from a recognized university and active bar admission in the country of residence.
- 5+ years of experience in real estate law, with strong exposure to development and transactional matters.
- Experience in construction, real estate disputes, or related legal fields, ideally including in-house experience.
- Strong knowledge of real estate development processes, property regulations, and contractual frameworks.
- Proven ability to draft and negotiate complex legal agreements independently.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills with a commercial mindset.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in multicultural environments.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese, with strong legal drafting proficiency in English.
- Dual qualification (especially in common law jurisdictions) is considered a strong advantage.
