Accountabilities

In this role, you will provide end-to-end legal support across real estate development projects, ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and strong contractual foundations for complex transactions. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to structure, negotiate, and execute legal agreements that support large-scale developments.

Provide legal advice across all phases of real estate development, including acquisition, due diligence, permitting, construction, financing, leasing, and sales
Draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documents such as purchase agreements, development contracts, leases, construction agreements, and loan documentation
Manage legal risk exposure throughout development projects and propose mitigation strategies
Conduct legal research and analysis on real estate laws, regulations, and industry practices
Collaborate with internal teams including development, finance, and construction to support business objectives
Interface with external stakeholders such as government authorities, lenders, investors, consultants, and partners
Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and maintain awareness of legal and market developments

Requirements

You are a qualified legal professional with strong expertise in real estate law, particularly within development and transactional environments. You bring solid experience handling complex agreements and advising on high-value projects, ideally within international or in-house settings.

Law degree from a recognized university and admission to the bar in your jurisdiction
5+ years of experience in real estate law, with a strong focus on development and transactions
Additional experience in construction, disputes, or related legal areas is highly valued
Prior in-house experience in luxury real estate development is a strong advantage
Strong understanding of real estate development processes, regulatory frameworks, and procurement structures
Proven ability to draft, negotiate, and analyze complex legal and commercial agreements
Strong analytical thinking with the ability to identify risks and prioritize effectively
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders
Professional proficiency in English and Portuguese, including the ability to draft legal agreements in English
Dual qualification in common law jurisdictions is considered a plus
