Job Description

Order Auditor / Shipping Assistant (Flex)

Department: Distribution Center / Operations
Reports To: Distribution Center Manager or Warehouse Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary

The Order Auditor / Shipping Assistant (Flex) is responsible for ensuring customer orders are accurate, complete, and prepared for shipment while providing support across all shipping operations as business needs require. This position serves as a quality checkpoint before products leave the distribution center and flexes into shipping duties to maintain workflow efficiency, meet deadlines, and support team productivity.

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesOrder Auditing
  • Audit completed customer orders for accuracy against invoices, pick tickets, and shipping documentation.
  • Verify product quantities, model numbers, colors, sizes, and accessories prior to shipment.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies before orders are released for shipping.
  • Ensure orders are packaged according to company quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate audit records and communicate issues promptly to warehouse leadership.
  • Assist in investigating inventory discrepancies and shipping errors.
Shipping Assistance (Flex Responsibilities)
  • Prepare orders for shipment by packaging, labeling, and staging products.
  • Operate shipping software to print labels and process shipments.
  • Load and unload freight safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with carrier pickups and shipping documentation.
  • Organize shipping areas to maintain a clean and efficient workspace.
  • Support inventory movements and replenishment as needed.
  • Assist other warehouse functions during periods of high volume.
General Responsibilities
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the warehouse.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely (pallet jacks, forklifts, etc., if certified).
  • Meet productivity, quality, and accuracy expectations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, or inventory experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn shipping software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate proficiently in English to accurately interpret work orders, shipping documents, safety instructions, product labels, and company communications, and to effectively communicate with team members, supervisors, and transportation partners as required to perform the essential functions of the position.
Preferred
  • Experience auditing customer orders.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to become certified.
  • Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS).
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and reach.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment.
