Clinical Psychologist/Post-Doctoral Supervisor (Psy.D./Ph.D.)

$150,000 - $180,000 base salary with an opportunity for a yearly bonus.

We are seeking a licensed Clinical Psychologist to lead and further develop our Post-Doctoral Training Program. This is a unique opportunity for a psychologist who is passionate about supervision, teaching, mentorship, and shaping the future of the profession.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to influence training standards, develop educational programming, mentor emerging psychologists, and help build one of the premier post-doctoral training experiences in private practice.

If you've reached a point in your career where you want to make an impact beyond your own caseload, we'd love to speak with you.

Why This Role Is Different:

This isn't simply a supervision position.

You will play a critical leadership role in designing and growing a highly respected post-doctoral training program while continuing meaningful clinical work.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Mentor and develop future licensed psychologists

  • Shape training curriculum and clinical development initiatives

  • Influence quality standards across the organization

  • Collaborate directly with executive leadership

  • Help build a best-in-class training program

  • Continue seeing clients without carrying a full-time clinical caseload

  • Join a clinician-led organization that deeply values professional growth

What You'll Be Responsible For:
Clinical Supervision & Professional Development
  • Provide weekly individual supervision to each post-doctoral fellow

  • Facilitate 1x/week group supervision and case consultation

  • Support fellows in developing strong clinical judgment, case conceptualization, and professional identity

  • Review and sign clinical documentation

  • Ensure fellows are meeting licensure and training requirements

Training Program Leadership
  • Lead the development and execution of the didactic training calendar

    • Coordinate 1x/month training presentations with a guest speaker:

      • Identify internal and external experts to provide advanced clinical education

      • Help create a premier learning experience for early-career psychologists

Clinical Excellence & Quality Oversight
  • Maintain a clinical caseload of approximately 18–20 sessions per week (varies based on workload)

  • Support schedule management and documentation standards

  • Monitor clinical engagement, retention, and treatment continuity

  • Provide coaching and consultation around complex clinical cases

Recruitment & Program Growth
  • Participate in recruiting and interviewing post-doctoral candidates

  • Help identify future talent for the organization

  • Serve as an ambassador for Thriving Center's training philosophy and clinical culture

Who Thrives In This Role:

This position is ideal for a psychologist who:

  • Loves teaching and mentoring

  • Finds fulfillment in developing clinicians

  • Enjoys creating systems, programs, and educational experiences

  • Values collaboration over hierarchy

  • Wants meaningful leadership responsibilities without sacrificing clinical work

  • Is excited by the opportunity to help shape organizational growth

Qualifications:
  • Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PhD or PsyD) in New York

  • Eligible to provide post-doctoral supervision in New York State

  • Minimum 4 years of post-licensure clinical experience

  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory or training experience

  • Prior supervision, teaching, training, or leadership experience preferred

  • Strong understanding of evidence-based treatment

  • Excellent interpersonal, mentorship, and communication skills
