Responsibilities:

• Interpret work orders, engineering drawings, blueprints, material specifications, reference points, and machining requirements to plan and execute precision machining operations, including GD&T interpretation.
• Program, set up, and operate CNC machining centers and CNC lathes, including experience with Mori-Seiki Y-axis machines (preferred).
• Develop, write, and modify CNC lathe programs based on technical drawings and specifications; familiarity with CAPS (Mori) and machine programming is a plus.
• Perform machine setup, establish tool offsets, and support fixture design to optimize machining efficiency and accuracy.
• Manufacture precision components while maintaining tight tolerances of +/-.0005 to meet quality standards.
• Verify machine settings and first-piece accuracy through detailed measurements and inspections, ensuring compliance with ASTM standards.
• Edit and troubleshoot existing CNC programs to improve machining performance and production efficiency.
• Transfer and input CNC programs from PC systems into machine controls.
• Monitor tooling performance during operations, identifying wear or breakage and making necessary adjustments to maintain quality output.
• Follow workplace safety procedures, operational guidelines, and manufacturing best practices to ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with live tooling is highly preferred.
• Strong proficiency in reading and using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision inspection equipment.
• Ability to sharpen and maintain cutting tools is a plus.
• Strong technical aptitude with excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• High attention to detail with a commitment to precision and quality.
• Ability to safely lift up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
