Engineering Technician in Summerville, South Carolina at Sportsman Boats Mfg.

Sportsman Boats continues to grow and is looking for an Engineering Technician. The Engineering Technician is responsible for building fiberglass splashes, operating hand tools, and measuring components on boats to apply to production.

What you will do:

• Work closely with mill operations and product development to build splashes, hand laying fiberglass and finishing a build to follow tight timeline of predetermined splash schedule
• Cut fiberglass and drill holes/develop installation process utilizing hand tools such as: sanders, grinders, oscillating saws, drills, routers, flange cut tools, impact guns, etc.
• Ensure accuracy of precise measurements to position components on boats
• Document specific locations in installation components onto splashes to apply as a template for the production process
• Interpret schedules and communicate effectively with the production team, leadership, and management to ensure FRP parts are available to splash

To be considered you must have:

• High school diploma or GED
• 1-3 years boat building experience
• 1-3 year fiberglass experience
• Bilingual Spanish/English
