This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

Job Summary

As a Manufacturing, Ops & Assembly Manager at Blue Origin, you will be responsible for leading the Assembly & Integration team at our Lunar Plant 1 location. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of executing complex manufacturing operations, leading a team of technicians to achieve operational excellence while collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, quality & supply chain to continually improve integration workflows & processes. This person will be results driven, adept at resource management, and committed to maintaining the highest quality standards in a mission critical environment.

Shifts: A | Mon-Fri (7am-4:30pm)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and optimize assembly and integration operations to ensure efficiency, precision, and quality across all vehicle assembly production processes.

  • Develop and execute integration plans and schedules to meet delivery milestones and program objectives.

  • Mentor assembly and integration teams, providing guidance and fostering a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, transparency, and information sharing to drive team unity.

  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to identify and resolve assembly and integration challenges, balancing day-to-day operations with strategic planning.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance integration processes, tooling, and performance metrics.

  • Monitor assembly and integration performance and provide regular updates to senior management, demonstrating sound judgment and a clear understanding of how team actions impact business drivers and program success.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards, and proactively address opportunities and challenges with urgency and enthusiasm.

  • Manage budget and resource allocation for assembly and integration activities.

  • Support new product introductions and the scale-up of integration capabilities as programs evolve.

  • Evaluate technical inputs and program criteria to make informed, quality-focused decisions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience

  • 8+ years of progressive manufacturing operations experience, with at least 5 years in a people management role

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex production operations — precision mechanical assembly, integration, or equivalent processes in a high-consequence manufacturing environment

  • Experience standing up or activating a new production work center or manufacturing line

  • Proven ability to manage a production schedule and drive daily execution against it in a high-complexity, low-volume environment

  • Experience working cross-functionally alongside Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in launch vehicle, spacecraft, or large-scale aerospace assembly

  • Experience managing production operations through a first article build in an aerospace or defense program

  • Background in lean manufacturing, flow-based production, or takt-time-driven assembly operations

  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems in a production planning context

  • PMP or equivalent program management certification

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
