Full-Time Line Cook

We are seeking a dedicated and dependable Full-Time Line Cook to join our Dining Services team in a senior living community. In this role, you will help create a positive dining experience for our residents by preparing and serving high-quality meals while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and hospitality.
Position Summary:
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and serving quality food according to established recipes, menus, and dietary requirements. This position supports daily dining operations by ensuring meals are prepared on time, presented attractively, and served safely. The Line Cook maintains a clean and organized kitchen environment while following all federal, state, and local regulations, community policies, and Dining Services standards.
Essential Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve meals that are appetizing, nutritious, and consistent with established recipes.
Review menus and production sheets prior to food preparation to ensure accuracy and proper planning.
Ensure food is prepared and served according to quality, safety, and sanitation standards.
Assist in establishing and maintaining food service production lines to ensure timely meal service.
Recognize and respond appropriately to dietary concerns and emergencies, reporting observations as necessary.
Follow Infection Control and Universal Precaution policies and procedures.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment when handling infectious waste or bodily fluids.
Complete required documentation, forms, and reports related to dietary operations.
Report accidents, incidents, equipment malfunctions, and safety concerns immediately.
Assist with scheduled cleaning duties, kitchen sanitation, and equipment maintenance.
Defrost and maintain freezers and refrigeration equipment as assigned.
Participate in departmental projects, studies, training programs, and continuing education opportunities.
Maintain confidentiality of resident information and community business matters.
Support team members and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience:
Minimum of one (1) year of cooking or dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, assisted living community, restaurant, or related food service environment preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices.
Ability to follow recipes, menus, and production schedules accurately.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Dependable attendance and a positive attitude.
