General Description:
The Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries is a privately funded 501(c)3 non-profit, evangelical Christian ministry. Our designated purpose is religious, and we are a Christ-centered ministry which is dedicated to sharing the Gospel and helping the homeless and impoverished. We consider every position to be essential in the fulfillment of our ministry and statement of purpose. As such, each employee must have a relationship with Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord.
Essential Functions
As a member of staff, uphold, promote, and encourage, in word and deed, desired organizational culture and values; purposefully seek to establish and maintain a culture that is based on grace and affirms and advances KGM’s vision and purpose.Serve as a member of the New Life | New Hope Program Team, supporting program participants in achieving educational, vocational, and personal growth goals. Conduct educational assessments for program participants to identify academic strengths, barriers, learning needs, and future opportunities. Develop individualized educational plans that help participants pursue appropriate pathways, including: ED completion, College preparation, Career readiness , Employment preparation , Continuing education opportunities Meet regularly with program participants to monitor progress, provide encouragement, and adjust educational plans as needed. Facilitate educational classes, schedules, and programming within the Education Center. Coordinate student support services, including tutoring, testing resources, study support, college preparation, and career exploration opportunities. Develop and maintain individual participant work plans and accurately document educational progress and outcomes. Regularly evaluate educational programming, curriculum effectiveness, volunteer instructors, and participant engagement to ensure quality and effectiveness. Maintain and update quarterly class schedules and participant educational plans. Communicate regularly with teachers, volunteers, and program staff to ensure participants receive consistent support and appropriate educational resources. Collaborate with other KGM departments and staff to support holistic guest transformation and educational success. Partner with the Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, schedule, train, and support Education Center volunteers. Assist in the development and implementation of career readiness and career services initiatives that prepare participants for long-term success. Support administrative functions within the Education Center, including scheduling, reporting, recordkeeping, and budget oversight.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong organizational, administrative, and time-management skills. Ability to teach, coach, mentor, and encourage individuals from diverse educational backgrounds. Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer systems. Ability to maintain accurate documentation, records, and reports. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary ministry environment.Personal Attributes and Values

High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, human services, counseling, or a related field preferred. Experience in education, workforce development, adult learning, coaching, or related ministry environments preferred. Minimum of two (2) years of leadership, teaching, coaching, or case management experience preferred.The pay range for this role is:18.50 - 18.50 USD per hour(Kalamazoo Gospel Mission)
