Job Description
Are you an experienced healthcare corporate attorney who can navigate complex commercial agreements while helping business leaders proactively manage employment and labor risk?
We’re seeking Corporate Counsel to combine strong contract expertise with a solid foundation in employment and labor law who is comfortable translating complex legal requirements into clear, actionable guidance for business leaders. This is an opportunity to serve as a trusted legal partner within a complex, highly regulated healthcare organization. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer and General
Counsel, this role is a key legal partner to leadership, clinical teams, and
operational stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including physician agreements, vendor contracts, payor agreements, joint ventures, licensing agreements, and IT agreements.
- Advise Human Resources and operational leadership on federal, state, and local employment laws and workplace compliance matters.
- Provide legal guidance regarding employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary actions, terminations, accommodations, leaves of absence, wage and hour requirements, and workplace policies.
- Provide counsel on complex workplace investigations and assist HR leadership in evaluating findings, legal risk, and appropriate corrective actions.
- Advise the organization on labor relations matters, including collective bargaining agreements, union-related issues, grievances, and other labor matters, as applicable.
- Support responses to employment-related claims, agency charges, demand letters, subpoenas, and other legal or administrative proceedings.
- Partner with outside counsel on employment litigation and other matters, coordinating strategy, documentation, discovery, and case management.
- Provide consistent, clear, and actionable legal advice to internal stakeholders.
- Help strengthen internal legal processes, documentation standards, and best practices.
- Support organizational compliance with applicable laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory frameworks.
What We’re Looking For
Education
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school (required)
Experience
- Four (4) years of legal experience in a law firm and/or healthcare organization (required)
- Experience drafting, negotiating, and finalizing agreements with physicians, providers, vendors, and healthcare partners (required)
- Experience advising employers on federal and state employment laws and employee relations matters (required)
- Experience with labor relations, collective bargaining agreements, union environments, or traditional labor law (preferred)
Licenses & Certifications
- Active license to practice law (required)
