Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:The WIC Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day operational oversight of WIC clinic services. This role ensures efficient clinic flow, high-quality customer service, and compliance with WIC program requirements and organizational policies. In addition to supervisory responsibilities, the WIC Supervisor functions as a WIC Nutritionist and provides direct client services as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Supervisory & Operational Responsibilities· Oversees daily WIC clinic operations to ensure efficient clinic flow and quality customer service· Works closely with the WIC Program Director to maintain operational standards and program compliance· Provides direct supervision to WIC staff, including addressing employee concerns, monitoring attendance, and assisting with scheduling· Investigates and responds to client complaints and service concerns· Communicates updates, expectations, and policy changes to staff in a timely manner· Maintains appropriate documentation related to staff interactions and clinic operations· Identifies staffing and supply needs and communicates them to the WIC Program Director· Ensures WIC clinic environments remain clean, organized, and professional in appearance
Staff Leadership & Coverage· Trains and supports WIC staff as needed to ensure consistent service delivery· Provides workflow guidance and customer service oversight· Performs supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the WIC Program Director Clinical & Program Responsibilities· Performs all duties of a WIC Nutritionist, including client assessments, nutrition education, and counseling· Provides breastfeeding promotion and support services· Conducts nutrition assessments, including anthropometric and hematological measurements· Ensures accurate and timely documentation in WIC data systems, including QuickWIC
Administrative & General Duties· Attends meetings, trainings, in-services, and conferences as assigned· Maintains confidentiality and complies with all HIPAA, security, and WIC program requirements· Performs other duties as assigned in support of program operations
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:· Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills· Ability to organize, delegate, and manage clinic workflow· Ability to exercise sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy· Ability to address employee discipline and resolve customer concerns professionally· Knowledge of nutrition education and counseling methods· Strong knowledge of WIC clinic flow, customer service standards, and eligibility requirements· Familiarity with social and human service referral systems· Strong documentation and recordkeeping skills
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution in:o Food and Nutritiono Community Nutritiono Public Health Nutritiono Nutrition Educationo Human Nutritiono Nutrition Scienceo Nutrition & Dietetics· Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a WIC setting· Experience managing a WIC site or clinic operations· Experience training and supervising WIC staff EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER:Hamilton Health Clinic is an equal opportunity employer. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/MOTOR COORDINATIONRequires hand-eye coordination; finger dexterity, and a combination of sitting, standing, climbing, stooping, balancing, kneeling, reaching, carrying, pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 15 pounds). Must be able to write, type, use telephone and computer systems, and other office equipment. May require sitting or standing for long periods of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENTExposure to routine medical office/health clinic conditions as well as adverse environmental conditions such as dust, temperature and noise extremes, etc. May be exposed to infectious or contagious disease.
