Yard Manager at SALSON LOGISTICS INC – NEWARK, New Jersey

Position Description: We are seeking a dedicated and organized Yard Manager to oversee the daily operations of our yard and our security team. You will be controlling our yard jockeys and switchers to efficiently manage the flow of the yard. This role ensures efficient workflow, accurate inventory control, and safe operations while coordinating with dispatchers, drivers, and warehouse personnel.

• Take full ownership of yard operations, managing equipment placement, safety, and flow.
• Operate a forklift and tractor to move chassis and other equipment throughout the yard.
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of switchers, yard jockeys, and security.
• Perform daily safety checks and inspections of equipment before and after use.
• Partner closely with the Asset Operations team to coordinate all equipment movement and inventory tracking.
• Maintain accurate records of yard activities, including check-in/check-out logs and freight bill verification.
• Uphold all facility safety protocols and procedures, maintaining a secure and organized yard.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs with the Equipment Management team.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.

• 2+ years of logistics or security management experience
• 2+ years of experience using warehouse management systems
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team development and performance improvement.
