About the Role:

As an Inventory Controller at Cadogan Tate in New York, you will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the accurate tracking and control of inventory within our transportation and warehousing operations. Your primary objective will be to ensure that all inventory records are precise, up-to-date, SOPs meeting standards. You will collaborate closely with warehouse and trucking team, client service teams, and management to optimize inventory flow, reduce discrepancies, and support efficient supply chain processes. This role demands a proactive approach to identifying and resolving inventory issues, conducting regular audits, and implementing improvements to inventory management systems. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to maintaining operational excellence and supporting the seamless delivery of services to our clients.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in inventory control, preferably within the transportation or warehousing industry.
  • Strong proficiency with inventory management systems and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and resolve discrepancies effectively.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems
  • Knowledge of transportation and warehousing industry regulations and best practices.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate inventory records by performing regular cycle counts and full physical inventories.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between inventory records promptly.
  • Implement and enforce inventory control procedures to minimize loss, damage, and obsolescence.
  • Generate detailed inventory reports and provide insights to management for decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline inventory processes and improve overall efficiency.
  • Utilize inventory management software to track stock movements and update records in real-time.
  • Support audits and compliance activities related to inventory control and reporting.
