About This Position
CPLC manages the Hummingbird Project for unaccompanied minors in need of culturally competent whole wellness care. CPLC has 53 years of demonstrated quality experience serving the community as a high-trust organization. Each minor in our care receives case management, education, healthcare, and legal services in a trauma-informed system.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Case Aide provides assistance to the case management department and is responsible for supporting day-to-day tasks, ensuring that case management services are provided to youth in a timely manner. They may work extended hours, weekends, and holidays on a needed basis to facilitate program services.
The Case Aide has a variety of responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

Maintaining and archiving physical or electronic active/discharged files in accordance with agency and ORR policies and procedures.

Processing case service forms, applications, and other paperwork as needed.

Meeting with UC on a weekly basis to provide telephonic communication with family of origin, primary caregiver, and/or sponsor.

Assisting with discharge and transfer planning.

Assisting facilitation of ORR National Call Center referrals for service gaps identified during 30-day calls.

Working closely with travel agents, Case Manager and Youth Care Workers on travel arrangements to ensure flight dates are secured and properly submitted within required time for internal processes and ORR requirements.

Obtaining the Transfer of Custody Form, tracking Travel Arrangement Logs.

Communicating directly with sponsors to send their payment.

Considering flight assignments due to travel agents’ availability, ratio, genders of the children/travel agents, medical conditions, etc.

Coordinating flight-travel arrangements for those that require ORR FFS approval.

Emailing travel agents with itineraries for both the client and the travel agents to smoothly coordinate transportation.

Evacuating youth/traveling if needed due to natural disasters.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
- High School Diploma or GED required; College hours referred
- Must be bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Valid Driver’s License meeting company standards for insurability
- Must be minimum 21 years of age
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Windows
- Maintain appropriate boundaries
- Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills; written and verbal (English & Spanish)
