Job Description

OVERVIEW (POSITION PURPOSE)

The Material Control Specialist oversees the storing, receiving, and distribution process of the Raw Product for Production. The main duties include controlling the flow of the Raw Product into the Plant, tracking the boxes dumped and ensuring they are scanned into Production, and analyzing inventory counts to ensure accuracy and identifying needed protocols for loss mitigation.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS

  • Assume ownership of daily inventory counts.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy by conducting regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
  • Discrepancy Resolution – investigates shortages, damages, or rejections and implements solutions to reduce inventory inaccuracies.
  • Analyze inventory data, identify trends, and investigate inconsistencies.
  • Scans tags of product dumped to Production Runs, if needed.
  • Learns and understands the inventory processes taking place within Parity Factory.
  • Validates data entry for both issued Products and Finished Product from previous day’s Production in Parity Factory.
  • Verify that Finished Goods Produced are properly transferred within Parity Factory.
  • Responsible for review and reporting of inventory levels within Parity Factory.
  • Collaborate with Warehouse Staff, Planning, Raw Receiving, and Plant Management to maintain organized, safe, and efficient storage areas.
  • Work closely with the IT department on any Parity concerns, issues, and Parity performance.
  • Performs data entry into various programs and/or databases to support accurate and timely tracking and reporting of plant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Work Experience

  • Previous experience in warehousing, logistics, or inventory management strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Production Scheduling preferred.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Proficient using PC, via keyboard/mouse, and various software applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite, Parity Factory, and Excel).
  • Ability to work well under pressure and quickly assess and respond appropriately to questions.
  • Ability to adapt to change and learn quickly.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Good organizational skills.

  • Noise level in work environment is moderate; Standard office setting.
  • Eye, hearing, hair nets, bump hats, lab coats may be required.
