About This Position

Description:

INTRODUCTION: This position reports to Logistics Manager. It is solely accountable for the fulfillment of all assigned duties and has authority delegated commensurate with assigned responsibilities.

WAREHOUSE MANAGER POSTION SUMMARY: Primary responsibility to maintain accurate inventory and supervise warehouse personnel at JOST International Hayes/172nd Street facility. This includes but is not limited to; overseeing all inbound and outbound shipping/receiving activities while working in a cross functional environment. The manager is to ensure products are properly identified according to defined storage location(s) with ERP handling unit label. This role is to assign warehouse tasks for material handlers and certify JOST packaging specifications for accuracy and quality. The Warehouse Supervisor will have the responsibility to meet or exceed JOST operational goals and objectives.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Include, but are not limited to:

a) General warehouse duties including small package shipping/receiving.

b) Responsible for all inbound and Sub-Contracted outbound shipments and organization of materials.

c) Organizing the warehouse/yard in conjunction with operations, assigning bin locations, monitoring/disposition of slow-moving materials and printing of HU labels.

d) Manage day-to-day Incoming Quality Inspection of all incoming goods.

e) Proper inbound staging of materials for quality inspection.

f) Coordinate with quality auditor/inspector for warehouse movements.

g) Coordinate and organize physical inventory/cycle counts.

h) Process shipping/receiving utilizing ERP EWM Module. Inbound/Subcontract/Stock Transfer/ZKOMMI and troubleshooting activities.

i) Communications with external vendors and internally with other departments.

j) Supervising and assigning tasks for material handlers and warehouse personnel.

k) Confers with management, Human Resources and/or subordinates to resolve employee problems, complaints or grievances.

l) Will execute performance reviews, performance evaluations and disciplinary documentation and with appropriate action taken.

m) Reviews and approved employee time worked, updates work schedules, processes PTO time requests and coordinates with Human Resources as needed.

n) Ensures that all company quality, environmental, and safety standards and policies are followed.

o) Required to participate in corrective action, 5S and other company teams as designated by the department manager.

p) Responsible for addressing root cause departmental issues and resolve in a timely manner with proper communication to the Purchasing Manager.

q) Any additional duties that have not been specifically stated, but which may be assigned and those that are logically and properly inherent to this position.

r) Responsible for all Training Programs between Receiving, Sub-Contracting, ZKOMMI Picking, Forklift Certifications and Incoming Quality Inspection.

Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS:

a) A minimum of five (5) years’ business experience in warehousing.

b) Prior working knowledge and experience in LEAN/5S processes and initiatives.

c) Prior leadership/management experience of a minimum of two years.

d) Associate’s degree in business or supply chain preferred, or combination of High School Diploma/GED, and/or some college coursework, and prior work experience.

e) Prior experience with ERP systems, with the ability to gain knowledge using an ERP system and transitioning from a legacy system. SAP experience with RF scanning preferred.

f) Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, Outlook.

g) Must be able to work effectively with others in a team environment.

h) Current forklift certification.

i) Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

j) Capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responding to urgent internal operational requests.

k) Highly dependable, motivated and self-driven with excellent attendance.

l) Ability to gain knowledge and understanding of JOST company safety, quality and Basic Processes.

m) Ability to gain knowledge and understanding of JOST products, processes and customer requirements.

n) Actively involved in shop floor activities.

o) Manage and implement fork truck program. Setup of users and working with vendors to manage program.

p) Proficient in shop math, including measurements, factions, decimals, and basic geometry.

q) Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints with GD&T.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

a) Work is performed in both a warehouse and an office setting.

b) While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, see, hear and frequently required to walk; use hands, reach, sit, kneel, stoop, bend, twist, stand and occasionally will be required to lift or move objects up to 50 pounds.
