Program Coordinator

Part-Time

Position:

The City of Sharonville is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Part-Time Program Coordinator to support the development, coordination, and delivery of recreation programs and activities at the Sharonville Community Center. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with the public, creating engaging recreational opportunities, and helping provide positive experiences for community members of all ages.

Under the direction of the Recreation Program Manager, the Program Coordinator will assist with planning, organizing, promoting, and coordinating a variety of recreation programs, events, and activities. The position will also provide administrative and operational support to ensure programs are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Candidates must be willing to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Current shifts vary, with a limit of 28 hours worked per week. Qualified candidates should demonstrate strong instructional, customer service, and communication skills, along with the ability to build positive relationships with participants, families, and staff.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and assist with the implementation of recreation programs, activities, and special events.
  • Assist with developing new and innovative recreation programs based on community interests and needs.
  • Coordinate program schedules, facilities, equipment, supplies, and staffing needs.
  • Communicate effectively with program participants, instructors, staff, volunteers, and the general public.
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to questions, concerns, and program-related requests.
  • Assist with program registration, attendance, evaluations, and other administrative duties.
  • Help promote recreation programs and events through flyers, social media, email, and other communication platforms.
  • Monitor programs and activities to ensure compliance with department policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Assist with recruiting, coordinating, and communicating with part-time staff, instructors, officials, and volunteers as needed.
  • Support special events and other Community Center activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Salary and Benefits:

The compensation package includes an hourly range of $18.00–$21.00, commensurate with experience. The City offers a highly competitive part-time benefits package that includes participation in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System; paid holiday, vacation, and sick leave after one (1) year of permanent employment; injury-on-duty pay; access to an Employee Assistance Program; individual membership to the Sharonville Community Center; and more.

Requirements:

  1. Graduation from high school or passing of the General Education Development (GED) test; completion of secondary education preferred.
  2. At least two (2) years of responsible experience in program coordination, preferably in a recreation environment.
  3. A combination of additional education or professional experience and training may be considered.
  4. CPR/AED Certification or ability to obtain within thirty (30) days of employment (City-funded)

The Center is a membership-based facility located at 10990 Thornview Drive in historic Sharonville. The facilities are open to residents, business employees, and non-residents.
