About This Position
POSITION PURPOSE
This position serves as a specialized pharmacy professional responsible for ensuring that our organization’s 340B drug purchasing program adheres to federal HRSA regulations. They monitor, audit, and maintain the integrity of 340B data to prevent diversion and duplicate discounts. This role will also be involved in managing split-billing software, auditing claim eligibility, and providing analytical support to maximize program savings. This role also serves as the Lead Pharmacy Technician
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Current, unrestricted State of Florida Pharmacy Technician License
- A minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience in an acute care setting preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical knowledge and skills pertaining to inpatient pharmacy
- Demonstrated computer skills to include proficiency in the use of an electronic health record, Meditech preferred.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to multi-task while working In a high-volume work environment required.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
340b Compliance
- 1.1 Auditing & Compliance: Perform daily, weekly, or monthly audits of 340B claims (contract pharmacy, outpatient, and mixed-use) to ensure compliance with 340B program guidelines, including patient eligibility and provider eligibility.
- 1.2 Data Management & Software Maintenance: Maintain and update 340B split-billing software (??) troubleshooting data discrepancies.
- 1.3 Inventory & Purchasing Oversight: Monitor purchasing records to ensure proper replenishment of 340B inventory and prevent the use of GPO pricing for 340B-eligible drugs.
- 1.4 Reporting: Prepare monthly reports on 340B utilization, savings, and exceptions for pharmacy leadership, finance, and the 340B compliance committee.
- 1.5 Staff Training & Education: Act as a subject matter expert, training pharmacy staff on 340B regulations and policies, as well as ensuing all staff complete annual required education.
- 1.6 Audit Readiness: Maintain a state of "audit readiness" for HRSA audits and assist with external audits.
Pharmacy Technician Lead
- 1.7 Prescription Processing: Receive, interpret, and enter written or electronic prescriptions into computer systems.
- 1.9 Medication Preparation: Measure, count, pour, and mix pharmaceuticals, including compounding medications and filling automated dispensing machines.
- 1.10 Customer Service: Assist patients, answer phones, and provide service at the checkout counter.
- 1.11 Safety Compliance: Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws, as well as safety procedures, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- 1.12 Supervision & Leadership: Lead and coordinate shift operations, assign tasks, and monitor the performance of pharmacy technicians.
- 1.13 Training & Mentoring: Train, mentor, and onboard new technicians, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- 1.14 Operational Workflow: Optimize daily operations, including managing inventory levels, ordering, receiving, and stocking medications.
- 1.15 Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (e.g., HIPAA, USP 795/797/800), conduct audits, and manage medication recalls.
- 1.16 Administrative Duties: Assist management with scheduling, performance evaluations, and reporting on pharmacy metrics.
