About This Position

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a CR Writer/Vehicle Inspector to review vehicle inspections and produce professional condition reports that support our clients and partners.

What you’ll do:

The CR Writer/Inspector is responsible for supporting the efficiency and accuracy of vehicle condition reports and post-sale inspections. This role delivers exceptional customer service while ensuring all reports and inspections meet auction quality, confidentiality, and compliance standards. The CR Writer/Inspector assists with preparing condition reports, conducting post-sale inspections (PSI), supporting arbitration processes, and completing vehicle registration tasks as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a hands-on, proactive approach when interacting with customers, delivering excellent customer service at all times.
  • Complete all required training and certification courses for the Inspector position as assigned by the auction.
  • Perform cosmetic and mechanical inspections of vehicles to ensure accurate condition reporting.
  • Ensure all vehicle condition reports meet client requirements and auction quality standards.
  • Enter vehicles into the system, including accurate trim codes and vehicle details.
  • Accurately document vehicle mileage, options, damage, photos, and mechanical status.
  • Inspect vehicles for potential frame or flood damage.
  • Capture and upload clear vehicle photos to accompany condition reports.
  • Clear all personal data from vehicle infotainment, phone, and navigation systems prior to sale.
  • Ensure the correct auction tag is attached to each vehicle prior to conducting a 5-mile test drive.
  • Ensure tablets and inspection equipment are synced, fully charged, and handled with care.
  • Complete 20–30 condition reports daily, except on sale days.
  • Serve as a PSI (Post-Sale Inspection) or Arbitration Inspector on sale days as assigned.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Communicate operational issues or concerns to management in a timely manner, particularly those that may impact business operations or customer satisfaction.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic computer skills and light mechanical knowledge preferred.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and self-disciplined
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Proficient with computers and mobile devices
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license required and must be maintained throughout employment

Work Environment:


The CR Writer/Inspector works in a fast-paced auction environment using a tablet or handheld device to complete inspections and enter vehicle data. The role requires driving each vehicle approximately five miles for testing and inspecting the vehicle’s underbody as part of the inspection process.

This position requires working outdoors and may involve exposure to varying temperatures, weather conditions, elevated noise levels, and occasional fumes or odors associated with vehicle exhaust.
