About This Position

Description:

The Associate Director of Faith and Capacity Initiatives (FCI) work closely with the Vice President of Faith and Capacity Initiatives (VPFCI) to develop its department goals, programs and projects, in the national, regional and local contexts. They are responsible for implementation of all programs and projects, manage its budget, general administration, reporting and evaluation of each.

Essential Functions:

1. Ensure the successful administration and implementation of the department’s deliverables.

2. Ensure that program goals, objectives, and outcomes are met.

3. Maintain fiscal integrity of the department.

4. Monitor sub-contract agents.

5. Oversee the projects evaluation and monitoring process.

6. Direct the projects long-range planning process.

7. Ensure compliance of projects with terms and conditions of each award.

8. Support the VPFCI

9. Support the VPFCI and Fund Development with grant writing.

10. Represent NEI and FCI at appropriate national, regional and local meetings and as assigned by its leadership.

11. Prepare and/or facilitate reports and other forms of information for the NEI Board, Fund Development, funders and other outlets, as required.

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Explore new strategies to strengthen Hispanic faith- and community-based organizations.

2. Network with local, regional and national organizations and leaders that serve as potential resources for Hispanic faith-and community-based organizations.

3. Conduct site visits to participating groups.

4. May perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

1. Direct programmatic supervision of department staff.

2. Direct supervision of consultants.

Requirements:

Knowledge and Skills:

1. Minimum five years' experience in management position in church or community-based ministry/program.

2. Demonstrated experience in program implementation.

3. Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.

4. Excellent leadership, interpersonal, administrative, management and communication skills.

5. College graduate with master’s degree level preferred.

6. Knowledge of the Hispanic Church in the United States.

7. Understanding of federal grants terms and conditions.

8. Possesses knowledge of evaluation mechanisms, data gathering and reporting.

9. Significant relationships and networks with leaders of faith- and community-based groups on local, regional and national levels.

10. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Working Conditions and Environment:

1. Willing to travel to fulfill work demands.

2. Willing to work flexible hours.

3. Willing to attend public events representing Esperanza.
