About This Position

ICU/CSICU Patient Care Tech (PCT)

Patient Care Tech (PCT) | Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) | Nurse Assistant (NA) | Tech

We welcome you to our unit by providing educational enhancements and a comprehensive orientation to ensure you are prepared to care for those who entrust us with their care. Our 17-bed ICU/CSICU is home to highly-trained staff who care for a wide-range of patients (neonates to geriatrics) and is equipped with state-of-the-art technology. We provide care for cardiovascular patients who have undergone coronary artery bypass grafting, thoracotomy, carotid stenting, heart valve replacement or repair, as well as a variety of other vascular related interventions. Our team is very experienced in caring for those undergoing interventional and non-interventional procedures, general surgery procedures, and advanced therapies requiring specialized equipment such as intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), induced hypothermia, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), and the Impella Heart Pump. Responsibilities:

  • Provide basic, direct patient care, timely notification to appropriate staff on completion of patient care and for patient status changes ont he assigned shift.
  • Responsible for adhering to all standards of patient care and promoting a team effort among co-workers.
  • Collaborate with all members of the health care team with a focus on promoting evidence based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent or minimum score of Bronze on the Career Readiness Certification (“CRC”) certificate. If interested in obtaining CRC register as a Job Seeker at www.ARJobLink.Arkansas.gov.
  • Experience: No experience required. One (1) year patient care experience preferred.
  • Certifications: Current Arkansas Nursing Assistant Certification in good standing preferred. BLS required.
  • Other: Ability to read, write and communicate effectively. Required to complete lift training within six (6) months of hire date. Basic computer knowledge required.
