Position Summary
-
The HR & Event Coordinator supports the People Services team by coordinating human resources initiatives, employee engagement activities, and organizational events across UNC Health Appalachian. This role assists with HR programs, employee experience initiatives, and the planning and execution of internal events that support a positive workplace culture.
The HR & Event Coordinator works closely with leaders and departments to ensure events, trainings, and HR initiatives are organized, well-communicated, and aligned with the organization’s mission and values.
Compensation is commensurate upon education, experience, certification, and internal equity. Hiring compensation range starts from $21.28/hour.

Position Qualifications

Minimum Education
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field preferred.

Experience

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a human resources or administrative role.

Previous experience in employee engagement, event coordination, or a related area preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Familiarity with HR procedures, including onboarding, I-9 verification, and new hire reporting.

High level of accuracy in managing employee records and processing HR documentation.

Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with employees, new hires, and other stakeholders.

Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and information systems.

Ability to promote a healthy and safe working environment, uphold professional standards of behavior, and manage time and attendance records accurately.
