About the Position

We are seeking a dependable, proactive Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and professional data center environment that supports daily operations, audit readiness, and customer confidence. This role is responsible for routine janitorial services across common areas, offices, hallways, and support spaces, as well as grounds maintenance, seasonal weather support, waste handling, and common-area supply readiness.

This role goes beyond basic housekeeping. You will help ensure the facility remains orderly, accessible, and presentable in a live, customer-facing, mission-critical environment. You will coordinate work with Operations to avoid disrupting site activity, support recycling and waste management practices, assist with ESG-related documentation, and help maintain safe exterior conditions during changing weather.

Help keep a mission-critical environment clean, safe, accessible, and customer-ready every day.

What You Do Daily
  • Perform routine cleaning of common areas, offices, hallways, support spaces, and other non-IT areas in accordance with site standards
  • Keep floors, walkways, staging areas, and workspaces clean, orderly, and free of debris or obstructions
  • Support approved cleaning in controlled or data hall–adjacent areas while following access, escort, and contamination-control requirements
  • Collect, separate, and dispose of trash, recyclables, and approved waste streams in accordance with site and environmental policies
  • Maintain custodial, sanitation, and common-area supplies, along with required waste, recycling, and ESG-related records
  • Perform routine grounds maintenance, snow and ice removal, and seasonal exterior upkeep to support safe site access
  • Operate and care for custodial and grounds equipment, along with common-area and pantry equipment, within approved scope
  • Coordinate activities with Operations to support site readiness, customer visits, and changing operational priorities
  • Identify and promptly report unsafe conditions, access hazards, spills, leaks, weather impacts, or other issues outside custodial scope
What Makes You a Good Fit
  • Experience in custodial, janitorial, grounds, facilities support, or similar work environments
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean, organized, and professional spaces
  • Ability to work safely and consistently in a live operational environment with clear procedures and boundaries
  • Comfortable using a computer for basic tasks including email, training modules, supply ordering, and tracking recycling or ESG-related reporting
  • Comfort handling waste, recycling, cleaning equipment, supplies, and seasonal exterior responsibilities
  • Ability to notice and communicate unsafe conditions or site issues quickly and clearly
  • Reliable work habits, strong follow-through, and a professional presence in customer-facing spaces

Leadership Profile

  • Takes ownership of cleanliness, order, and presentation across assigned spaces
  • Works proactively to keep the site ready for daily operations, audits, and customer visits
  • Follows procedures carefully and coordinates well with Operations and other site personnel
  • Maintains professionalism, awareness, and consistency in a mission-critical environment
  • Understands when to act directly and when to report issues for the appropriate team to address

What Success Looks Like

  • Common areas, offices, support spaces, and assigned exterior areas are consistently clean, orderly, and professional
  • Walkways, access paths, and workspaces remain safe, clear, and ready for daily operations
  • Waste, recycling, and supply management are handled consistently and in accordance with site expectations
  • Grounds care and seasonal weather response support safe and reliable access to the facility
  • Customer, leadership, and audit-facing spaces are ready when needed and reflect a high standard of care
  • Operations has confidence in the quality, reliability, and professionalism of custodial support

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in custodial, janitorial, grounds, or facilities support work preferred
  • Experience operating cleaning equipment, grounds equipment, or similar tools preferred
  • Basic computer skills required, including email, online training systems, and simple data entry or reporting
  • Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, walking, standing, bending, and working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
  • Ability to support snow and ice removal, grounds upkeep, and seasonal exterior work as needed
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow site procedures, safety practices, and operational direction
  • Ability to work flexible hours when needed to support site conditions, weather events, or operational priorities

Why Join Us

This is an opportunity to play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment inside a mission-critical facility. You will help support the day-to-day readiness, accessibility, and presentation of a site that employees, customers, and leadership rely on every day.
