Cook’s Assistant / Deep Cleaner at The Care Group – Qualicum Beach, British Columbia

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for Cook’s Assistant / Deep Cleaner to join our The Gardens team in Qualicum Beach, B.C.

Shifts: 7 pm to 11 pm / 3 days a week

Responsibilities:

• Clean dishes, pots, glassware, and cutlery according to established culinary procedures
• Monitor and record temperature of the dish machine and report all deficiencies to Executive Chef
• Ensure the correct use of dish washing chemicals
• Assist in food prep as assigned by Cook or Executive Chef
• Clean and disinfect all surfaces, including counters, walls, floors, shelving, and storage areas
• Clean hard-to-reach areas, including behind and under equipment, to maintain sanitation standards
• Degrease and thoroughly clean kitchen equipment, ovens, hoods, sinks, and dishwashing stations
• Restocking of work area and ensure proper stock rotation is maintained
• Complete required food safety and production logs
• Maintain a safe work environment at all time
• Ensure proper use, handling, and storage of cleaning and dishwashing chemicals in accordance with WHMIS
• Attend in-service meetings and training as required

Qualifications:

• Grade 10 minimum education is preferred
• A valid Food Safe certificate
• WHIMIS certificate
• Must complete screening for TB
• Proof of COVID vaccination
• Must successfully pass the prescribed Criminal Record Check
