We are currently searching for an Finance Intern to join our team.

General Summary:

Under the general direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Finance Intern will assist the department with finance, accounting and business functions. This internship is a great opportunity for a student to receive valuable hands-on experience while gaining exposure to accounting, budgeting and expense processing software, such as Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, SAP Concur, and Prophix.

The Finance Intern must be available to work 40 hours a week, for a 10- or 12-week period. The typical schedule will be Monday to Friday, during normal business hours, with the opportunity to work remotely on occasion.

Possible Job Functions:

1. Assist with the reconciliation of accounts payable vendor statements. Comparing our records of payments made and payments due, to their statement. Resolve all discrepancies.

2. Reach out to accounts payable vendors receiving payment via physical check and convert each to receiving payment via ACH.

3. Reach out to accounts receivable vendors paying us via physical check and convert each to paying us via ACH.

4. Communicate with and correct any vendors still referring to our organization by legacy references.

5. Assist with monthly financial analysis. Research and explain the variance between actual and budget amounts.

6. Digitize accounting source documents.

7. Assist with the search for a new financial statement audit firm.

8. Support the implementation of new automation that continually updates information within our payroll and retirement plan systems.

9. Design and develop the Finance Department’s section of the organization’s SharePoint.

10. Supports the Finance department with various administrative tasks.

11. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. Currently seeking a bachelor’s degree. Majoring in Finance, Accounting, Business or Healthcare.
  2. Previous knowledge of, or experience with, healthcare matters, accounting, finance or general business, a plus.
  3. Experience using Microsoft Office applications; proficient in Excel highly preferred.
  4. Ability to stay organized and meet deadlines.
  5. Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
  6. Local candidates only, stipend for living will not be provided.

Working Conditions:

1. Works in normal office environment where there are no physical discomforts due to temperature, noise, dust, etc.

2. Frequent prolonged use of CRT screen may produce visual fatigue.

3. Work requires attention to detail, flexibility, and meeting deadlines which may produce mental fatigue.

4. Work requires frequent standing and walking for photocopying, moving, and stocking supplies and for other support of office staff.

5. This position is a Level 3 – Low to no exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens and no exposure to TB. These employees do not visit hospitals.
