Job Description
HOUSEKEEPING TECHNICIAN
-
POSITION OVERVIEW
-
Some of the major job functions include but are not limited to:
- Performs routine housekeeping tasks to include cleaning, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and re-stocking supplies throughout the hospital and premises under contract for housekeeping services.
- Provides trash removal and disposal for all hospital departments.
- Insures adequate supplies are available to complete daily tasks.
- Follows safety and infection control policies and all other hospital and department policies and procedures.
- Attends required department meetings, in-services, and continuing education classes.
- Occasional floor maintenance to include shampooing of carpets or buffing of floors.
- Performs as shift leader as assigned by Directors or Supervisors.
- Performs other job related duties as required by Directors and Supervisors.

REQUIREMENTS

Education:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Experience:
- 1 year experience in Housekeeping preferred

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
- Must be able to see and read English language instructions.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays.
- Ability to communicate verbally
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to sweep/mop, push/bend repetitively
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
