Intern SAFETY Summer 2027 - Charlottesville, VA in Charlottesville, Virginia at The Caton Companies

The Caton Companies is a mid-size and growing family of companies with corporate offices Charlottesville, Virginia, including Caton Construction Group and Management Services Corporation. With over 400 employees, our projects and worksites range from large heavy bridge and roadway construction projects to 800-unit apartment communities to smaller offices with 2-3 employees. We currently have active work activities across Virginia and North Carolina.

We are seeking a summer SAFETY Intern for a 10-12 week internship near Charlottesville, Virginia. Position will start in late May or early June, 2027. Candidates must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health or a similar field. Open to students who have successfully completed sophomore level classes and above. Intern housing is available for this role.

The Safety Intern provides support to a staff of dedicated Safety Professionals under the supervision of the Corporate Safety Director. Other duties will include:

• Coordinates safety-related activities with direct supervision from a Safety Professional;
• Performs workplace safety activities with assistance;
• Assists with enforcement of The Caton Companies Environment, Health, and Safety Policy;
• Visits and inspects, under supervision, workplaces throughout Virginia and North Carolina
• Performs other duties as assigned.
