Summer Nursing Externship Program

• Duration: 8-week paid program
• Dates: May 17th through July 10th, 2027
• Program Information: The AnMed Summer Nurse Extern Program offers nursing students an immersive look into the nursing profession. Participants are paired one-on-one with an experienced AnMed RN, allowing them to shadow and learn alongside their preceptor while gaining real-world clinical experience in a hospital setting.
• Additional Learning: Attend specialty conferences on topics such as:
  • IV Therapy
  • Surviving the First 15 Minutes of a Code 99
  • Legal and Ethical Issues
  • Cardiac Monitoring
  • End-of-Life Issues
• Clinical Areas: Select your top three areas of interest from:
  • Emergency Department
  • Neurosciences
  • Renal/Urology
  • Orthopedics
  • General Medical Unit
  • Post Surgical Unit
  • Cardiac Telemetry
  • Pulmonary Telemetry
  • Maternity Services (Labor & Delivery, Mom/Baby, Nursery)
  • Behavioral Health
  • Critical Care
  • Peri-Operative Services (Outpatient Surgery, OR, PACU, Endoscopy)
  • Kid's Care (Pediatric Urgent Care)

Qualifications

• Rising Senior enrolled in an Associate or Bachelor of Science Nursing program
• Graduation date within one year of program start (December 2026 or May 2027)
