Registered Nurse - Surgical Suite/Operating Room at Crouse Hospital – Syracuse, New York

Surgical Services has 14 state-of-the-art inpatient operating rooms that feature ceiling mounted surgical lights, flat panel monitors and equipment booms on articulating arms. The OR is staffed by a dedicated Surgical Hospitalist team, in house surgical Physician Assistants and OR Nursing and technologist staff. The impatient facility performs over 8,000 procedures annually, including over 500 through the robotic surgery program.

As part of the Whiting Surgical Suite Team, the Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for the planning, implementing and evaluation of care for a given patient population with the established standards and practices of Crouse Hospital. This process is enacted through direct clinical practice, management of patient care and general professional duties.

Job Requirements:

Required: Graduate of an accredited Nursing Degree program. Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. Must have minimum of one (1) year of operating room or surgical nursing experience. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire or within 2 weeks after hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be obtained within one (1) year of the hire date, if deemed necessary for the position based on the scope of the assigned role.

IF HIRED OR LICENSED AFTER 1/1/2017: MUST complete BSN (Bachelors in Nursing within 8 years of hire date into the Registered Nurse position)

Preferred: Certification in a specialty area.
